Caribbean Travel Awards 2021 Destination of the Year: USVI

Capt. Vince and I decided to start the catamaran charter business in a pandemic, as the USVI reopened for travel and we continued to hear that people were just itching to go somewhere on vacation. Since October ‘20, we’ve had the opportunity to show the beauty of the USVI to 5 different groups as we sailed them around St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix. Well, we’re not the only ones who love the USVI. Recently the Caribbean Journal announced the winners of its 7th Annual Caribbean Travel Awards and they named the USVI as their 2021 Destination of the Year.

The USVI reopening to travelers came with a lot of thought and planning by local government, and precautions remain in place for guests. Curious what the USVI are all about? A great way to enjoy a socially distant vacation is aboard Chaos Interrupted! We have plenty of room for up to 6 guests, offering multiple lounging and seating areas in the open air. Together, we can visit:

  • St. John: Though it is the smallest of the three main U.S Virgin Islands, St. John's unspoiled beauty is perhaps the greatest found anywhere in the Caribbean. The natural beauty of the Caribbean, St. John offers visitors pristine splendor amid modern luxuries. With two-thirds of the island designated as a national park, St. John has some of the world's most beautiful beaches, and hiking trails abound. Cruz Bay & Coral Bay have restaurants, shops and other businesses that cater to visitors.

  • St. Thomas: St. Thomas is the USVI’s most cosmopolitan island, yet it still retains the distinctive atmosphere of a Caribbean paradise. This mountainous island with shimmering bays, powdery white beaches, flowing green hills has a near-perfect climate year-round. Charlotte Amalie, the capital, offers plenty of shopping, dining and pirate history.

  • St. Croix: The large island to the south of the archipelago is often forgotten about due to its distance from all of the other islands, but offers so much to do and see. There are two towns on island, each with centuries-old colonial style architecture. With beaches aplenty, you can lose yourself basking on white sand surrounded by crystalline water. A land tour could offer up a visit to the rainforest, the only botanical gardens in the Virgin Islands and the Cruzan Rum Factory for tastings. St. Croix is also a diver’s dream due to its sheer reef drop-off on the northside showcasing strange and amazing creatures.

Chaos Interrupted is now booking trips for Fall 2021 & Spring 2022. So the next time you’re looking to #interruptthechaos and starting planning a get-away, we hope you’ll consider joining us in the Virgin Islands!
